How to unlock Magikarp
To add it to your League, complete its challenge — complete 25 runs (win or lose) — then weaken and catch it when it appears in your next run.

Goal: 25 - Catch it in your next run.
After the challenge is complete, Magikarp appears in a run. Weaken it and catch it — it only joins your League once it is caught.
"In a single run" goals must be met in one run; the others add up across all your runs. League-size goals count the partners you have caught.

Magikarp's Ultimate
Magikarp has a signature Ultimate that changes as it evolves. Charge it by fighting, then press R to cast it.
Epic Splash
You jump three times with all your might: each landing raises an enormous wave, and at the end Magikarp rain from the sky.
Gyarados's Fury
Gyarados roars and charms everyone, two waterspouts advance toward your target and a Hyper Beam sweeps the front. With Maturity it starts to rain and a wave finishes it off.
Magikarp's evolution
It evolves into Gyarados at level 40.
